They'll probably hit us with something out of left field this year, like Energy & Innovation a few years back.

Dude, don't even joke about that.
Normally I am an optimist! Here's to hoping it's anything other than something like that. Now I'm scared that I jinxed us all.

I think the rest of the guesses here are as good as any :) I'll be excited regardless. I am hoping for a new math this year (instead of their current 4-year cycle), but I won't hold my breath. In fact, in general I would be excited for any format changes so long as they move the program forward and aren't arbitrary (e.g., not something like changing the number of questions on tests/SuperQuiz)

I'm a math teacher so I love math sections. Although I will say that next year is the Trig section and that is definitely the worst in comparison to Geometry and Statistics. But I doubt the math will change... so my team of underclassmen next year will have fun with the Trig.

The USAD facebook posted a teaser of what looks like a blue virus.  Upon digging deeper it is an image of swine flu.

So is the science microbiology?  Study of epidemics and outbreaks?  Could be very prudent with the measles outbreaks going on right now.  It can't be infectious diseases again.

My hat is still firmly on my head for Islam right now.  The blue of the form and the blue nature of the virus lend itself to Muslim architectural styles that use lots of lapis lazuli in its work.  Also Islamic society is where medicine was first really advanced and they also created the first hospitals.  But I may be grabbing at straws.

For those not on Facebook, USAD put out a teaser today.  It said, "2019-2020 curricular topic clue #1" with this picture:

Stanleytree, looks like we were posting at the same time. I was hoping it would be the bubonic plague virus for the Middle Ages, but I looked up a picture of that and it doesn't really match.  I'd be fine with Islam and the Middle East, too.

My students were also hypothesizing the Middle Ages.  They could have just googled virus or something and out a good picture up.  I could see that.  I'd be mildly disappointed but it would be a good topic.  But dar-al Islam would be so good...

These are the two topics I've been dreaming of since I started coaching in 12/13.  It would be great to finally get one of them.

We found something on Pinterest that uses the USAD graphic with an announcement that Cher is back on the charts with "Woman's World."  It indicates that it is the new women's empowerment video.  Could this be evidence for 100th anniversary of 19th amendment?

Can you link it? I'd love to see that

Ok, Pinterest is blocked by my school filters so I took a screenshot off my phone.  This is all I can do right now!

The optics aren't too good on that, let me tell you what...

I did find an article that indicated that the Spanish Flu of 1918 contributed to female suffrage.  With 50 million people dying (and add to this the death toll from WW1), more women entered the workforce and demanded equal rights and equal pay.  The image of the virus in the clue could be Influenza, or the flu.
